How to get the most out of Freakycast

Cast your vote for your favorite freaky movies and TV series. Your Freakycast is as personal as your taste — start small and add favorites whenever you like.

This is the fast version of how the app works right now. If you are just getting started, choose a chart, add the horror that defines your taste, and publish your first ranking when the order feels right.

Freakycast is still in beta, so some parts will keep evolving. That is a feature, not a warning label.

Quick start

01

Build a Freakycast

Choose Movies or TV Series and rank your favorites. Publish 10 to contribute to its community chart. You can add up to 100, but you never have to fill the list.

Build your dashboard habits

Your dashboard keeps rankings, lists, Horror Queue, watched titles, and reviews manageable.

Cast your favorites, at your own pace

Your Movie Freakycast or TV Series Freakycast is your ranked selection of favorites. You do not need 100 titles. A published ranking with at least 10 titles contributes to that media’s community chart. Every additional title you publish helps shape the community Top 100. 100 is the maximum, not a checklist to finish.

Each media counts separately: 10 movies qualify your movie ranking, and 10 TV series qualify your TV ranking. The same rule applies to future media charts, including books. Lists with fewer titles can still be published and shared; they just do not affect the community chart yet.

Add favorites and arrange them in the order you love them, then publish to cast your vote. Changes stay private until you publish again. If you publish a shorter version with fewer than 10 titles, it stays shareable but stops contributing until you publish enough titles to qualify again.

Start with your profile

Your profile gets more interesting the second you give it some personality. In Settings, you can add your favorite movies, profile bio, location, website or social links, display name, and avatar.

This is also where you shape the public profile people will actually share and follow. A filled-out profile makes your lists, reviews, and activity feel like they belong to a real horror fan instead of a blank account.

Track what you watch

When you mark a movie or TV series as watched, Freakycast starts building a clearer picture of your horror history. Your watched titles make your public profile feel lived in and keep your own history useful.

If you need to tidy that up later, you can remove movies from your watched list inside your dashboard.

Use your dashboard as home base

Your dashboard is where most account management happens.

  • Build and publish your Movie and TV Series Freakycast rankings.
  • Manage custom lists and your Horror Queue.
  • Remove reviews you no longer want attached to your profile.
  • Remove titles from your watched history when you need to clean things up.

Write reviews and share your taste

Open any movie or TV series to reach its detail drawer, where you can rate it, write a review, add it to your Horror Queue, or mark it watched. If a title makes you want to rave, warn people off, or write a small love letter to some forgotten creature feature, that is where you do it.

You can also share your public profile and your lists, which makes Freakycast useful for recommendation threads, group chats, and showing people exactly what kind of horror fan you are.

Use search and discovery pages

The search page does two jobs. First, it lets you search the active horror catalog directly by title. Second, it opens into discovery pages that help you browse the app from different angles.

  • Most Popular: what horror fans are actively reviewing, listing, and revisiting on Freakycast.
  • Highest Rated: titles rising on TMDB score.
  • Most Listed: the movies showing up in public lists the most.
  • Most Reviewed: the titles generating the most writeups and discussion.

What Signal is

Signal is the editorial side of Freakycast. It is where we publish updates, interviews, release notes, community stories, and other pieces that give the app a voice beyond the catalog itself.

If you want to keep up with what we are building or read along with the wider world around the app, Signal is the place.

What shows up on the home page

The home page is a live snapshot of the community: chart leaders, newly published Freakycast rankings, recent reviews, and the latest Signal stories.

The fastest way to become part of that picture is still the simplest one: rank horror, publish your list, and write something real about what you watch.
