Terms of Service

You must be permitted to use the service under the laws that apply to you. Teenagers are welcome; if you need a parent's or guardian's permission to agree to these terms, involve them before creating an account. Horror artwork, descriptions, and trailers may contain mature themes.

For children under 14, a parent or guardian must contact us before account creation so required consent can be addressed. Freakycast does not currently have an automated parental-consent process.

Provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in details secure, and let us know if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not access someone else's account without permission or impersonate another person. We may require changes to usernames or profile content that mislead people or violate their rights.

Profiles and published submissions are public. Queue and watched activity can also appear on your public profile, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

Submissions may contribute to aggregate or community rankings. Freakycast decides how to calculate rankings, weight submissions, and set eligibility requirements for lists and contributions. We may exclude invalid or suspicious submissions, change our methodology, and recalculate results as the service evolves.

No submission is guaranteed a particular weight, chart position, or permanent effect. Rankings reflect community contributions and our rules; they are not objective measures of a title's quality.

Do not:

• Create or control multiple accounts to manipulate rankings, ratings, or other community signals.
• Use bots, automated voting or ranking, fake activity, or coordinated artificial submissions to influence results or evade eligibility rules.
• Spam, harass, impersonate people, or post unlawful, hateful, deceptive, or infringing material.
• Use scraping or automation that bypasses access restrictions, harvests personal information, or places an unreasonable load on the service.
• Access data without permission, compromise security, disrupt the service, or deliberately interfere with ranking integrity.

Sharing your real favourites and encouraging friends to contribute honestly is welcome.

You retain ownership of your original content. By submitting it, you give Freakycast a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, format, technically reproduce, and distribute it through Freakycast, and operate features based on it, including community rankings. Our technical providers may process it as needed to provide those services for us.

This does not give us ownership or a general right to sell your content or use it in unrelated advertising. You must have the rights needed to submit it. Respect other people's privacy and intellectual property.

The licence lasts while content is provided through the service, and afterward only as needed for permitted retention described in the Privacy Policy. It does not override your privacy rights or require us to preserve submissions forever.

We may remove content, restrict participation, suspend or terminate accounts, and exclude contributions when reasonably necessary to address abuse, violations, legal requirements, or threats to the service. Contact us if you believe a moderation decision was mistaken.

Delete your account in Settings using your current password and deletion confirmation, or email us for assistance. Suspension alone does not delete information. Account deletion removes your profile and main account content described in our Privacy Policy.

Successful deletion removes draft and published rankings, older votes, lists, reviews, ratings, and other account content described in the Privacy Policy. Your contributions are removed from community charts and affected totals are recalculated. Separate communications, historical moderation records, technical logs, and backups may remain; retention must be reasonably necessary and lawful, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

Freakycast's original content, design, and branding are protected by intellectual property law. Metadata, artwork, and other third-party materials remain subject to their respective rights. Use them only as allowed by law or with the necessary permission.

We rely on providers and APIs including Vercel, Convex, and TMDB, along with email delivery and optional YouTube players. Their availability and content can change, and we cannot guarantee continuous access. External links and embedded services may involve their own terms and privacy policies.

Freakycast is evolving. Features, catalogue entries, and public pages may change or become unavailable. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that every listing, release date, or submission is accurate or complete.

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided as available without additional warranties, and we exclude liability for indirect losses arising from its use. Nothing here excludes responsibility that cannot legally be excluded, including for intentional or gross fault or bodily or moral injury, or limits mandatory consumer or privacy rights.

These terms are governed by Quebec law and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without taking away mandatory protections or rights to bring a claim that apply where you live.

We may update these terms as the product changes. We will revise the date above and provide appropriate notice of material changes, including any notice or consent required by law.
